Can Throttlestop trigger VAC ban?
So i discovered that undervolting can do wonders for my laptop's CPU temp. I recently downloaded Throttlestop and I have been enjoying using it, worrying less about my machine's health.

It just occured to me since it is technically an external program, could VAC treat it as a malicious software of any sort? Or is there nothing to worry about?

Thanks!

Does it actively change or interfere with game folders and files in them?

Why would something that does this even come close to it? I mean - unless it's downloaded from a shady site which also shares cheats, at which point I'd worry more for the viruses and other crap that would come with it instead of your Steam account.

I don't think so. And, I am quite careful with my downloading activity so I am not worried about viruses and other crap.

All I'm asking is if anyone have had any experience getting a false positive with this app, or if people have been using the app for a long time and encounter no issues at all

There's a list of programs and features in operating systems in the pinned thread (well, linked I think?) that are the most common 'throws an error'. I don't recall anyone ever mentioning this one, it's been out for quite some time, so I'd imagine that if it was common to see it interrupting the vac verification system it'd be talked about here a bit.

Alright, I'll check that list out. Thanks for pointing me towards that. Appreciate it!

You will not be banned for using Throttlestop.
