VAC banned on CoD BO2 Zombies
Before anyone assumes anything wrong, yes, I did use cheats

I was playing BO2 Zombies with my brothers (3 PCs, same network, custom game) and decided to use Cheat Engine for the hell of it (locked my ammo values, aka infinite ammo). This was yesterday.
Today, I see that I am VAC banned on CoD BO2 as a whole (SP, MP and ZB). Being surprised, I made some research and it seems that VAC is enabled even in custom game modes.

Now, I won't deny that what I did was cheating. I cheated locally (or so I thought, until now), but I cheated nonetheless.

Even so, I don't think I should have a VAC ban on an otherwise clean account because of a "local" custom game (I was able to modify ammo values, which I assume means that the game was local). Is there anyway I could appeal on this ban?

Although, if being VAC banned on BO2 will in no way affect my multiplayer gaming experience in any other game, then I don't really care about BO2 being VAC'd, since I do not play it online at all.

I did read it before posting this
I believe VAC has made a mistake in banning me - what do I do now?

What games can I play if I've been VAC banned?

VAC banned accounts can still play single-player games, local LAN games, and multiplayer on non VAC-secured game servers. To find non VAC-secured servers, from the Steam main menu click on View, select Servers, then select Not secure in the Anti-cheat dropdown.

This is also unclear about whether it means being banned from all multiplayer/online games or just the banned game in question

You dont thats why.

If a VAC ban is determined to have been issued incorrectly, it will automatically be removed. If you wish to discuss Valve Anti-Cheat with the community, you may do so here.

Local games are generally VAC secured also, this helps reduce cheat development and testing.

Well, about my second question then

I've read that part

But it's still kind-of unclear

Thats what you can do once VAC banned. 3rd party modifications to a game, thats clear.

Sorry missed the first quote. No impact on other games at all.
Source engine and GoldSource engine games can share a ban, but not in COD.

On the Source games:

Alright, that's all I wanted to know and be sure about. Thanks for clearing things out

No problem. Some games like CS have options to run local games in insecure mode, but I am not sure COD has that, bar the campaign which is 100% single player.

Another thought. Now that I'm VAC'd on BO2, if I still use Cheat Engine on it, is there a possibility to be punished further / more seriously?

FOREVER+1

No, you wont be perm banned longer then forever :)
But be carefull, specially if you do play other VAC secured games.

If you did read it, then why did you post? It would then be clear that the ban can't and won't be removed.

My issue has already been resolved, thanks to a helpful person

On the other hand, if you would've read my post, you'd see that appealing the ban wasn't my only question, for one, and that I needed some more things explained...

And before replying, please read my other replies here
