"...is used to protect against in-game cheating in a variety of games. Any modification to a game which allows for one player to have an advantage over another player may be considered a cheat. " --> To my understanding this doesn't include my mouse software, does it :?
Depends, is it a auto clicking kind of software? If so, then yeah most likely. But like a Razer app...no, not at all. If the software says on their site that it will make you a better player cause of X reasons, then most likely a form of a cheating software.
auto clicking doesn't get you vacced
I believe I've seen it a few times with CoD, but I think it's safe to say it's sort of a risk.
That's how it looks.
You heard cheaters say that, or did you actually see tests done? Why is it a risk? It's a program that executes a script for your mouse to click. You can't get vacced for that because it doesn't touch any games or modify it. Hardware configs don't get you banned =p
It probably was cheaters, lol. Either way, in my own opinion I feel like it's unsafe, but you have a valid point.
Bans can also be applied for
phone-sharing
library-sharing
account-sharing
with someone using cheats with your account.
And NO, those are still permanent for all accounts connected to them.
Even if VAC wanted to ban you for having autoclicker, it would have no way of telling whether or not most clicks are real or fake. When you click ur mouse, you send information to da cpu to make click at x,y. A script or code does the samething, so there isn't a way to tell the difference without false positives. The only way they would be able to ban you is if they blacklist your mouse programs signature. In which case, everyone that has a gaming mouse would be vac banned for running their software.
