Banana Gaming Text Mod Got Me Banned!

The story goes as followed. I was playing a 1v1 server on CSGO with a friend when i was kicked and had a message come up in front of my screen saying "You have been banned for VAC secure servers", at first i thought it was a joke as i did not use any illegal client or mod but when i found out i actually had a VAC ban pertaining to CSGO i was shocked! i did my researched and looked at all files that were downloaded in the past month and none of them where reported as cheat based clients. As i did more research i came across a comment on Banana Gamings video explaining the he got a VAC ban for using the newest version of the mod as the system thought it was a client used to alter to the game. now back to present day (today) i went on CSGO to see if my infraction was removed because they realized that it was falsely placed but what I found out was that I was not overwatched or game banned, I was banned by the system itself for a infraction of my game files, at this point i was so angry that a multi billion $ company cannot see through this obvious mistake. If anyone has any other stories like mine to share please feel free to reply to this thread with the, and if you are working for valve or know a software dev at Valve please inform them about this mistake as more and more players will use this mod and be wrongfully banned!

The mod has been out since December and there have been many complaints about false bans when using the client, as far as i know it is in valves hands now as it is their job to update their client to support players.

Yes i understand that, but what i dont understand is why the VAC system picked it up as a cheat client as it does not contain code that effects ingame status only a new language option.

Just as another question is the program SLAM detected as a .dll client because it edits ingame uses? because if so i would then understand the reasoning behind the ban.

it's just a language text file, you don't get vac banned for adding text files or modifying them... at most if the server is sv_pure 1, vac won't let you join or will kick you off the match for having modded files. (so long as you don't replace/modify csgo's exe or .dlls, you won't get vac banned)

Most mods do not work this way. That's probably what caused the ban.

VAC doesn't like you adding, removing, or altering .dll files, that is probably the cause of the ban.

What dll?

I removed it now but it was something like "BananaGamingTextMod3.0.dll"

Maybe you shouldn't be using third-party mods in CSGO when it seems pretty clear you don't know what you're doing.

However, I have a sneaking suspicion that this mod didn't cause your VAC ban, especially since it's been out for years.

No one here can verify if the details of your "story" are true or not.
