Not true, not true at all. Half-Life 2 is a VAC secured game. I can cheat the hell out of it in singleplayer and have yet to get a VAC ban because of that!
So I don't understand what your trying to say there. And is too why I don't understand why I have been impossed with this for Sniper Elite 4.
And it's very likely that the manipulations of the cheat were still in the memory, even after the cheat was closed. That got picked up by VAC when you were connected to the multiplayer server and got you banned.
As the Steam Subscriber Agreement told you, you are not allowed to use cheats. You still did, on your own risk. You got caught.
Your intentions don't matter.
The Sniper Elite 4 devs don't have to disclose that the game is now VAC protected but any forms of modifications would have to violate the game licence for a VAC ban to be correctly applied I imagine.
Definitely worth contesting - make sure you've done this direct to the developers for the most accurate and quickest resolution. If the ban does stand; it means that just by 'cheating' in the game even for single player, breaches their end-user agreement. My guess is whatever was used couldn't be determined as anything less than a forbidden mod/process regardless of how it was used. Good luck anyway.
now the issue you have is no server owners let vac players on there servers in multiplayer.
and just saying it could be worse , the devs used to give game bans for cheating, basicly removing your key and making the game non working, so at least you can still play wiith other co op players and sp mode still
It's kind of funny that you didn't even know which game you were VAC banned from. That should be incredibly apparent.
"Single player" ARK is still VAC secured. All ARK servers are VAC secured by default and when you play ARK's "single player" mode, you are actually playing on a local server.
Either way, it doesn't matter if you were actually playing single player or if you're just claiming it was just single player when it was actually multiplayer. Either way, the ban stands.
This has already been resolved.
I know you guys mean well, but can you please read the thread before posting?
