Is it safe to inject SMAA?
I would like to use an SMAA injector for Team Fortress 2 because MSAA is not the same on the edges, and it makes the game a bit heavy, and SMAA is better than forcing FXAA from the nvidia panel....but I don't want to risk a ban.

how can you try....maybe you play, it works, but nothing excludes the fact that maybe after 10 hours (or more) of playing with the injector you randomly get the ban. Or am I wrong?

Then try to play it more than 10 hours if you dont want to take risk

Your right, Vac bans are delayed. (up to a month or less) I don't recommend messing around with the game at all but in the end it's your choise.
Maybe the Support can help you out.

Well i guess he meaned that you can just risk to get a ban, whats a silly answer anyway.

To help you, any injector that is changing core files can and probably will trigger a VAC ban, so its on you if you would like to risk a ban.

Not really, since the SSA is very clear, any 3. party tool that is altering the game files is forbidden.

It's never safe to inject anything. But why don't you just enforce an AA method via the graphics driver control panel? Since it isn't injecting, it's safe.

This^^
Although the AA method is pretty bad and you have no real control over it, it's a safer bet than getting a VAC ban a few days, weeks or months down the line.

Which one? Right now, I'm enforcing SSAA which is everything but bad. In fact, if you have the GPU power, SSAA is the one and only true AA method.

Personally i game at 4k so SSAA is useless for me.
FXAA for example is pretty terrible and ingame AA is always abysmal.
SMAA via ReShade is usually always better as you have full control over it.

You don't really need AA when running in 4k.

That's nonsense. AA still exists even at 4k for a lot of games. SMAA can almost get rid of the remaining aliasing.
Even in games like RotTR which i'm currently playing you get a little aliasing at 4k. SMAA helps clear up the remaining jaggies.

Even online professional game photographer Duncan via DET http://deadendthrills.com/ uses AA at resolutions 7k and above for a lot of his shots.

Yes exactly I would have liked SMAA because it's the only temporal antialiasing you can inject if the game doesn't have any in the in-game options (team fortress 2 has only MSAA, the alternative would be to force FXAA from the drivers but it's not the same as SMAA). I'll try to live with whatever AA I can have without risking a ban, I guess. Doesn't really matter too much anyway, the game is very fast paced.
