If they're too lazy to make Steam Mobile for WP, tthey could at least make the authenticator. How hard can it possibly be?

I love my Lumia 950XL :)

Windows Phone > iOS > Android

Everybody know that, but not Steam employee...
I'm still waiting for my Lumia 950 XL, however Windows 10 Mobile > Android > iOS. I'm sorry I just cannot take OSes without file managers seriously.

We are now being punished because they are too lazy to make a windows phone app: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=8078-TPHC-6195&auth=43ec81a6c20ed06dd10fa46719820a21

EDIT: to put this impact in prospective, with the winter sale coming it will take 3 days for your trades to kick in. This will impact our ability to use the market place to participate in card trading as no one will buy from us if they can get it from someone else instantly.
That's SOOOOOOOO unfair... :crow:

Guys, here's to everyone who (like myself) have a Windows Phone and CANNOT get the community leader badge. Although I was only able to get with another authenticator:
https://winauth.com/2015/06/11/steam-guard-mobile/
It is safe and sound and Steam friendly.
Now you may have your badges!
Well, you can do it that way to get the badge. I've tried that method before, but, the problem is, you can't really trade since it will send the confirmation to your steam app (with Steam Guard Mobile activated). So, it will send the confirmation to nowhere. I've decided on bluestacks (even though it $ucks). But lets see if Valve will remove their laziness and at least do something for the community.
Not really, Hugoss. I had my authentication validated and all my transactions are done accordingly ever since (cards, games, and so on). You should give it a try, take a leap of faith. You can input your phone number (I have a WP too) here on Steam Desktop, activate the Guard and jump in the authenticator. It will send you a message to your phone and your e-mail. All secured.

Guys, I just opened a ticket with Steam Support Team. Gamers fingers crossed everyone:

"Dear support team,

it has been too long since we, as Windows Phone users, are unsupported by Steam. We are currently (and endelessly) experiencing a lack of guidance and assistance in order to obtain a proper Steam App for Windows Phone. It is clear enough that iOS and Android users have a major share in the mobile market - for quite obvious reasons - but Windows Phone users are having trouble to protect their accounts, as well as to enjoy several features offered by Steam.

May I share a little bit of my own problems: I had to BORROW an iPhone from a friend in order to download the iOS Steam app, activate the Steam Guard and then wait for a couple of days for the authentication to take place and receive a message stating my account was secured. Otherwise, it would be unprotected still.

Now we have a trade hold forcing us to enable our Steam Guards on our mobiles (https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=8078-TPHC-6195&auth=43ec81a6c20ed06dd10fa46719820a21&l=english) and we are asking ourserlves "HOW CAN WE DO THAT?"

I am NOT buying another phone - I enjoy my Windows Phone - and I feel great shame that I had to borrow, install and ask for my friend to wait until my account was secure. It is unconfortable and really unnecessary if I already had a Steam Mobile App for my Windows Phone.

It has been too long since Steam is failing to answer us "where is the Steam Mobile App for Windows Phone?"

We cannot be ignored - not to mention punished - anymore. It is now a question of security and blocked/ delayed features we are not getting. It is HUGELY unfair.

Please, we are a community of active Steam users and we NEED your cooperation. To have our accounts secured, to have our trades free of anoyance and to live a delightful mobile experience as any other user.

Have this message into consideration and take your time to answer us properly.

Here is a long (two years long) discussion in a forum I follow: http://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/8/864970587203494985/#p31

We hope you guys understand our demand.

Respectfully,

br_jack
(Mattos, Paulo - Brazil)"
