It's not because it would support Windows Phone OS mean it would support it either.

I'm with Najgori. Your issue is different to the issue being discussed in this thread.

Also, you don't have to have SMS and the authenticator on the same phone so even if you got a basic dumb phone, you could still use the authenticator on your tablet.

If you have a tablet of any sort and need to be able to recieve SMS you can go and get a crap-phone with a prepaid card for €15, or whatever currency you have, and top it up once a year to keep the number alive. That's different from being asked to replace your €600 smartphone along with the several hundreds of euros worth of apps and game purchases you have accumulated on the OS:s appstore over the years you have been using that particular OS.

Not what they are saying. They are saying that you can recieve the SMS on a phone and then enter the code from the message on the tablet. The SMS service does not have to be on the same device as the authenticator.

Which still forcing SMS usage. Which not many has a phone AND a tablet.

You can make an authenticator simply from a tiny PCB not connected to anything using a very simple algo.

In practice, the authenticator uterly fail.
