Steam For iOS: Just Give It to Us Jailbroken, Already

We iOS users who have been paying attention to Steam's lack of updates on iOS know why Steam can't update with Apple anymore. We know it as rather obvious: Steam breaks Apple's cruddy approval process and Apple wants a huge chunk of your earnings. We got that. We hate Apple for it as much as you do.

What we don't understand is why Steam doesn't bypass Apple's process completely and go Jailbroken on Cydia instead. Several companies have ignored Apple's store completely: BiteSMS and Grooveshark to name two.

Steam on the App Store right now is embarrassing to say the least. It looks bad for the company. Go Jailbroken, Valve, and don't look back. For the name of good software.

Hm. I've had this idea in my head before. I wonder how it would turn out, actually.

It would be much better, I can tell, since Valve would have much more freedom with development. The only downside is people who don't jailbreak won't be able to download the app.
