Is Valve considering an Android App Store?
I know that Valve has the Steam for Android app where you can buy Windows/OSX/Linux games and chat with your buddies. But have they considered doing an actual curated app store for Android devices? I ask this because with the Google Play Store, the Amazon app store, Aptoide, and others out there full of crapware and me-too games that are clear ripoffs of popular games, this might be an opportunity to offer a curated store where you can get quality and original games (maybe even SteamPlay offers) without having to sift through the scams and not-quite-the-same games.

I'm not asking for Valve themselves to create or port games for Android, I'm just suggesting they just provide a better alternative to the official app store and stores like Amazon App Store. I think Valve can actually do it and save us from the endless fields of crapware. At least provide some stricter rules to submitting original games than do the competitors.

it will be so great, i was thinking about the same idea. Today a lot of us uses the tab to play, i can t say how many hour i spend in front the tv, tab on hands playing a tower defense or even batman or need for speed... Steam should defenitly have a android store like a movie store and a music store, letting it be a place for all our cultural stuff
sry for bad english

I'd think it would be a missed opportunity, regardless of any PC/console bias the fans might have, if they didn't. Personally I wouldn't mind even it though I'm a PC/Windows gamer myself. I'd imagine that a lot of PC gamers or console gamers would pooh-pooh this idea out of some imagined threat to their platforms or perceived inferiority of tablet gaming. Steam might actually give us something different and refreshing in an Android app store.

The android market is pretty much taken already. They'd be the little fish of the barrel.
And Mobile users are mostly a bunch of cheapstakes

Until Android-based consols really take off (if they do at all), I doesn't make very much sense. Most mobile users aren't concerned with the types and variety of games available, because their phone/tablet is a work device that also happens to play free games on the toilet or the metro.
