Games for android (own market)
I know it is against the rules to have an app placed in the Google Playstore to sell apps itself, but there is nothing against making an own market like amazon does so or others. I hate it that I can't play the games I bought legally on steam and there is an android version for it without paying for it again and I would be willing to buy a lot more games knowing that I can, for example, play Splice on my computer and know I can progress in the train with the same savegame because of the steam cloud! Really would buy everything available with this option.

(Even better would be to have a deal with Google and merge the playstore and steam as described above)

Edit: started to make a list of known games that are already available on steam and android

Civ V shouldn't be a problem to port to Android...
It is just a matter of time. This must be done.

OH comon really? it's all about the cash, then the game owners would not make as much money if you did not buy the gme twice!! :thedragon:
I did not bought those games twice. I got them in the humble bundle. I already got them for android. They just don't count for anything related to Steam, like achievements.

There are also Metal Slug 3, Electronic Super Joy and Electronic Super Joy : Groove City that have been ported to Android as well. See here : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yazarmediagroup.groovecity
That's definitely something Valve should do, but I think that their policy now is streaming, via home streaming or using NVidia's Grid service. Having to turn on my desktop just to play Sonic or some old PS2 games that should run perfectly on my Android device is very disappointing.
However, I wouldn't be against having all my games installed on their servers and be able to stream them on my tablet. That might be what they're trying to do, but the list of games is restricted, and so is the list of compatible devices, plus it won't be free !

I wouldn't have played any of my Steam games on mobile phone but I've just got a tablet and I would like to play some of my Steam games on this. Steam already allows for us to play our library games on a PC, a Mac or Linux doesn't it? If these games exist on Android then surely it's not a big deal for steam to enable download of these application packages from their servers? If I remember correctly, Android is mainly open source operating system and isn't actually owned by Google so I don't think Google can prevent Steam from allowing download of these packages?

Ok so you know how a Kindle by Amazon doesnt have the google play store even though whatever Amazon calls their OS is a forked version of Android? Thats because you have to pay to use Googles apps (GAPPS) and the Google Play Store is most certainly included in GAPPS. So even though Android is open source and free to use and manipulate however you so choose, GAPPS are not open source or free to use.
No please
