Games for android (own market)
I know it is against the rules to have an app placed in the Google Playstore to sell apps itself, but there is nothing against making an own market like amazon does so or others. I hate it that I can't play the games I bought legally on steam and there is an android version for it without paying for it again and I would be willing to buy a lot more games knowing that I can, for example, play Splice on my computer and know I can progress in the train with the same savegame because of the steam cloud! Really would buy everything available with this option.

(Even better would be to have a deal with Google and merge the playstore and steam as described above)

Edit: started to make a list of known games that are already available on steam and android

well i think the Humble Store or whatever its called actually offers both PC and Android copies for games that have both.

I like how the comments went from July to Dec, but I guess that makes it okay for me!

I don't know why something like this shouldnt happen, Steam is on Win / Linux / Mac and their own "console" - why exclude the only remaining platform of mobile?
To say because a few devs don't want this shouldn't make it a blanket statement when there may be some that do.
- one point, Sony does it. You download PS3/4/Vita games from one store.

Although I believe the easiest compromise would be a Steam API for Android, so that developers with games already on steam can utilise Steamworks features, specifically cloud saving - or even monetary options - as an alternative to IAP systems such as Mobage/mobacoin. It just wouldn't be Valve controlled distribution 'cause it'd be on Google Play.

Ye, every so often there is someone replying on this thread. Mobile gaming is still a pain though without steam to jump in and give more room to quality games.

All I can say is that there must be a VERY good reason why they can't do this, otherwise they would have already done it as it's a really lucrative market. I imagine amazon's kindle store required many a hoop to be jumped through in order to not piss the hell out of google. It seems like it would be the natural progression. If I were google, I would hand over android gaming altogether to steam on an exclusivity deal from iOS and just let the boys at valve work their magic. It'd make apple look like amateurs.
