Depends on your definition of safe. What exactly are you asking?

The official Steam app?

Does the phone have a lock/complete wipe option if it gets lost or stolen?
Do you plan on getting drunk and giving your phone to your mates so they can run up a huge bill for you?
Do you have problems with money control and impulse purchases?

As far as mallicious software, and other back stuff. You'll be fine.

Don't buy a phone for the app.
What's the matter with your head?

Your buying a new phone specifically for steam mobile? Sure it's safe , I use it all the time. But it's not that fantastic , not enough so to buy a new phone for it.

Well it depends if you give out your password to people or sites.

It is as safe as you are. I use it on my iPhone and iPad.

anyways guys, i was gonna buy a new mobile just for steam, but i thought to my self it would be a waste since i would only use it when im on holidays, or if im not home in this case - work. But i dont think its worth it.

So ill just save the money and spend it on more steam games lol.

Thanks anyways all!

To be fair, the new mobile wouldn't be just for Steam. I mean, if you have an older phone, it might be worth upgrading anyway, to not have a rubbish phone.

But the app is useless these days anyway, since the mobile site does the same thing. That can be accessed from any phone capable of downloading the app.

I like using the remote download. Purchase a title and have it ready to play when you get home. And since thebapp is free it is easy tonuse and have everthing all in one place. Formatted to fit your iPhone or iPad screen.

They need to work on the Push Notifications. That is buggy.

@TrippleD - That remote download sounds great! Now I'm interested. :P

Very. Valve is a professional company and wouldn't put malware into the app. The app is probably even safer than Steam on the computer, because apps are monitored extremely carefully on the App Store and Apps aren't able to change how your ios device works (unless you jailbreak of course)

Did not see this option anywhere. To be fair, my PC is most of the time off when I am using the app
