Play Steam Games on Mobile Devices
I'm not suggesting the porting of games like Left 4 Dead or Team Fortress 2 to your phone. Mobile devices can not perform on that level. However, many Steam games such as World of Goo, Bastion, Waking Mars, GTA Vice City, even the Walking Dead and Xcom Enemy Unknown have become available on mobile app stores. So I considered the possibility of having these types of Steam games also available on your mobile Steam app.
Here's how it would work. Your mobile Steam App will have a list of the games you own on your PC, Mac, or Linux computer. Games that are capable of running on mobile devices will have a small indicator just like the apple, windows, and Linux symbols, indicating if the game is compatible with your mobile device. If so, you can download the game from the Steam mobile app and play from there. The game will not be exactly the same with some graphical and/or gameplay changes, though like universal apps on the iOS app store, it will be changed to suit the needs of the mobile device.
If this were to happen, it would also be interesting if you could play games from the save point of your computer. Using the Steam Cloud; save points, high scores, unlockables can all be transferred onto your mobile device and vice versa. So lets say I was playing the Walking Dead on my computer but had to leave town. I could use my mobile Steam App to play right where I had stopped while on the go.

Update: In light of In-Home Streaming, the ability to stream games on tablets in the vicinity (kind of like what the Nivida Shield currently does) wouldn't be too bad either. If touchscreen controls have already been created for mobile ports, they can be used for streaming as well. Games that utilize big-picture mode can use a controller connected to the tablet when streaming. Onlive has done something simular to this with Cloudlift, though that service is not limited to a certain network.
Also, I am sorry if this idea sounded naive and for any grammatical/factual errors (I wrote the original post when I was 14). I am however glad that this thread has remained active and has garnered so much support.

There's even an i3/i5/i7 variant of the Dell Venue. Right now it seems like the best option. I actually might even pick one of those up. It looks like springing for the i3 option would be the best since the Atom would probably choke on any game, the i3 seems to be perfect for what I am envisioning.
What if you could play almost any game on a mobile device via the power of streaming. There would be some issues like with multiplayer but why would you play competitive multiplayer games on an iPhone. What would happen is your computer if it was online on steam and not shutoff, would receive a signal to launch a game, and over the internet or maybe even cellular networks, the a/v of that game would be sent to your device live, like a youtube video is. Maybe you would need like a plug in keyboard and maybe even a mouse but I think it would work. Just to finish it off you would input controls and those inputs would be sent to the computer hosting your game and boom, you are now playing watchdogs on an iPad.

Definitely would work, and probably the only way we are going to be gaming on iOS/Android devices for a long time still, but that would sure eat up a lot of bandwidth.

For each game? There's a lot of games on Steam... It would be a massive undertaking for them to port 1% of their catalog to Android (and ARM processor devices).

We need a solution that runs on an x86 chip, basically. Not easy to find. The search continues!

The streaming idea is basically the only way we are going to be able to get Steam on ARM devices, though.
that battery life would be short

Nope

People play 3D games on mobile devices all the time. Instead of a week standby time, they get a couple hours gaming time. Price to pay.

actually several games are available both on Stema and on Play Market, for example Splice, Arma Tactics, that was huge disapointment to pay for the same game twice. (actually bought Splice twice).

Exactly.. buying things twice! If I have a ton of games on my profile and suddenly for $X I can have a device to have all of them in my pocket, I'm sold. The Steamboy looks promising.

I actually emailed Xolo today with this huge, totally random, idea brainstorming for them.

Look at their website: https://www.xolo.in/

They have tons of different models of phones, it sort of looks like them whipping up a new invention isn't a big task. The thing that pointed me in their direction was the X900. It has an Atom processor! One of the only x86 phones in the world, I even heard you can potentially install Windows on there, that's basically the golden ticket but I'd rather something be designed with SteamOS or regular Linux, but at the same time function as a phone, too. A lot of people would buy that phone. 1% chance of success, but maybe we should contact all device manufacturers one at a time and eventually someone's going to try to be first, and the result of that will be my ability to play 20 year old games anywhere I go. :special:
Nice idea, it will be fun.
That would be sweet actually! Maybe they could make a server for only mobiles!
