The scanner for this is inside the Steam app though. If Samsung is requiring an account to use functionality in an app they have nothing to do with, it's a problem with Samsung.
The new Steam app has problems, but we should at least assign blame correctly.

Yes. The mobile app does not have a QR code because it is the scanner.
