Every time i install steam on my android i get the previous error and can't connect.

Sorry i'm on Andorid 5.0, have latest version, and try with and without wifi

I have an issue I believe is related to my adblocker. Adaway. Whitelisting api.steampowered.com the only entry that showed up in the DNS log for the app had no effect :\

i wasnt using any adblockers at the time that im aware of but i did reformat my phone. haven't been in the app yet though

If you are using any Ad blocker in your phone, try disabling it. Worked for me

Ancient (living?) thread, but I was running Android with the Mother of All AdBlocking HOSTS files, and reverting to the stock HOSTS file (available from the MoaAB dev on XDA) fixed my Steam connection error. Hope this helps someone.

yeah its adblock error. in my case it was the default ad-block in cynogen
