Steam Guard SMS problem

So I'm trying to set up the two-stage authentication thing on my phone.

I put in the code that I'm sent via SMS, and the app tells me that the code is wrong.

The code, in fact, is not wrong, but the app is saying that it is anyway.

So, I hit resend code, and get a new code; only to be greeted with the same problem.

I've done this 6 times, with 6 different codes, and the app keeps telling me that it's the wrong code.

What the heck am I supposed to do?

It means your phone is not on tue correct network time. Check the settings and restart the device

I had the same problem with andriod steam app. Time zone is set correctly to network time. It simply did not accept the code sent by steam. The stupid thing is that with those wrong codes You are in limbo, beouse mobile token is set but is not really confirmed on this particulal phone. So the only thing You cand do is withdraw the whom mobile token thing.

give it a few minutes, before u type in the SMS code u receive, or just keep reapplying it.

I had the same issue with unofficial app for windows mobile, but I'm an arrogant bastard and I kept insisting that I can copy a simple code, reapplying it a few times, taking pauses, but never canceling or closing the app, and it was successful after a few retries, eventually.

I think valve has some issues with data delays affecting whatever operator they use for sending SMS. considering I received a code from a local country number, I'm thinking, unlike most services, they went cheapskate, using some cheap operator, to overcome the expenses of the whole process, as compared to loses from whatever malicious activity this thing is built to protect the service and users from.
