Steam Mobile Authenticator Does Not Send A Code.
When I enter my phone number into the mobile app on my phone and click 'Add phone' it is supposed to send me a text but it doesn't. Earlier it would direct me to the next page and would allow me to tap 'Resend code', but it still wouldn't send a code. Now, it comes up with this error message "Oops! Sorry, we couldn't send an SMS to your phone." and allows me to tap a button - "Okay." How can I fix this so it actually sends a code? I have got my phone number and area code correct, so that is not the problem.

At times it seems to be an issue with servers and waiting for a bit (perhaps a couple of hours) and trying again seems to fix the issues.

From the Steam Support Article: Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator

I'm not receiving SMS messages!
If you are unable to receive SMS messages from Steam, check with your wireless provider that your wireless account is allowed to receive them. Our text messages can come from a 6 digit phone number, please ensure that your provider supports this. Steam will also stop sending SMS messages if too many have been sent to you, so waiting a few minutes to an hour may allow messages to come through again. You should also check to make sure that your phone's inbox is not full.

I have been getting bent over by steam support for this exact issue for 3 weeks now. They claim it is my fault and nothing is wrong on their end but here is the truth. I have this iPhone 6. 4 years ago I put the mobile authenticator on it. Then 2 years ago I changed my number as I moved to a new state and didnt want to deal with the hassel of giving out an out of state number. I forgot to update the number through steam. Then 3 weeks ago I finally noticed that I neglected to update the number. So I at first attempted to just update it. I tried and tried 7 different ways. No luck, so like a fool I decided to just remove the incorrect number and add the correct one after. OOPS
Now I cant get authentication codes at all and try as I might I can not add my number. They claim it is my fault due to the fact that I have 5 and 6 digit numbers blocked. Well Sherwin Williams sends me weekly promotions from a 5 digit number Google sends me alerts from a 5 digit number windows sent me a code yesterday to link the same phone from a 5 digit number. I bought a Keyboard headset and mouse combo from BestBuy today and yep you guessed it. It came form a 6 digit number IMMEDIATELY after purchase. Ok steam its probly my fault
