Steam Security code coming from Weird Phone Number
I reactivated my steam guard because of accidental deletion of my mobile app.

The codes came from weird phone numbers (link below).

In any case, the codes were real and I got to activate my steam guard. I'm just concerned about their origin and I want to ask: is this a security breach of some sort?

Steam doesn't seem to worry about their phone numbers; I found an old Steam SMS that was sent from 0176-41772815 -- this is a normal(-looking) mobile number in Germany, which happens to have the same "area code" (0176) as my own mobile number.

In a way, the "area code" on mobile numbers used to identify the network, but that's no longer the case (since you can port the number to a different network, and even keep the area code). Still, it does hold for a lot of numbers, and maybe it's cheaper if they send their SMS on the actual network that they think the recipient is on. Maybe the can even identify the real network that a number goes to -- I can't see that since my number isn't ported.

Still, while this is somewhat interesting as it has an area code, I get my PayPal messages from varying numbers as well. It seems to be a normal thing.
