Steam Mobile app is messed up!
Every time I want to use the Steam Mobile app, I have to completely close the app process with Apple’s swipe up to close app feature, before doing anything in the app.

The app is completely unresponsive when opening it, with endless loading loops. I have the latest version of both the app and iOS.

> Has a mobile app
> Previous versions had full chat functionality
> Releases update
> Updated version requires an entirely different app for chat functionality

And people still praise this company.

I am so tired of this absolutely not user friendly app with its endless loading times and lack of reliability (iOS in my case).

It’s honestly surprising how bad the app is now, at least on iOS. I literally can’t browse the store correctly as it either doesn’t display it right or doesn’t let me click on a game.

It's crazy how bad it is compared to the previous
After all these months it's still just doesn't work right.

Ironically, the store works 'the best' although it still has issues. Android here.

Valve has always been one of my favorite companies on the internet - but after they fail to take care of the problems of their customers using this only available mobile Steam app, I'm really angry at Gabe and his team. In this day and age, it should be possible for a digital distribution platform to provide a working and user-friendly app for customers spending money in their store.

previous version was better..

I get the convenience of using the mobile app. But if it is plagued with bugs (to a point that makes it practically unusable; or at least the bugs are outweighing it's convenience), why not just use the website. I am new to this platform, but had a seamless experience buying two games and dlc content for one of them. I browsed a large number of games available in the store, all with no lag or hindrance whatsoever. I even set up authentication to sign in with a qr code via this app. I'm on an Android, but that doesn't make any difference to my point: if you're unhappy using the mobile app, then don't use it. Let the devs know what the problems are, and switch to a more comfortable/ user-friendly machine and OS. Simple.

If you offer a mobile app it has to work and not to annoy most of the users.
If this is not possible you have to delete it from the app store.

I just read another post (likely from someone much more knowledgeable than I am on the topic) that stated the devs are aware of the poor performance and are working hard to improve the app. And that an update is forthcoming within the next few months.

Do they really have to delete it just because certain (key) components don't work properly? If they completely abandoned any effort to make it work, I could see your point. But there are tons of apps and games that are even less operable than this app that are still available to download from Google Play store. It doesn't seem to be a policy of Google or Apple for that matter to remove buggy apps.

Yes, it should be deleted until it works properly. A bad work doesn’t become better just because there is a lot of bad work.
