Trying to Change Phone Number, real predicament here...

So I got a new phone, including a new phone number and carrier. I am trying to remove my old phone from the account but in order to do that Steam has to send me an verification SMS. My old phone's plan was deactivated so it is unable to receive said SMS and I can't afford to pay for another month just to get the code. I was thinking maybe I would have to get my number changed by my carrier? Can Steam Support change my phone number manually? I feel like I've locked my proverbial keys in the car. Thanks in advance.

lots of people are going through what you're going through atm, steam support is doing nothing to fix this. their system is a pile of garbage, all you can do it hope they remove/fix many issues with steam mobile
