Steam Guard without smartphone?

I just wonder can I use SteamGuard without any smarth thing? It's possible to use with SMS?
I use a feature phone, my old smartphone is dying. Battery, camera broke, even torch gives a weird noise when turn on. So I mostly use for SteamGuard and paperweight.
I would stick wiht a feature phone, but my Steam account security is more important and even the simplest smartphone handle Steam app.

You can use email based SteamGuard, but it will have 15 day holds for trades and market listings.
For trades not to have a hold, an Android or iOS based devices is mandatory. An SMS wouldn't make it possible to verify the content of a trade in a separate secure device.

Just get a cheap android phone. You can get those for less than 100 bucks. Even new ones.

I don't trade for a while, the 15 day holding not an issue. I only sell unwanted steam cards and CS:GO items on the marketplace.

Just use bluestacks or Nox (both is windows emulator with android)

Nah, that's more hassle. Stick with the a low-end smartphone.

But no everyone have or want to have mobilephones :D My dad is too angry to bank, bcs he have to decide: buy new phone for app 2FA or pay 2€/month for SMS 2FA and he didn't want to buy new mobile -_-.
