The records on this account indicate that the Steam Mobile app at the moment is running on an unsupported platform - an unsupported operating system and we unfortunately can't offer any specific troubleshooting steps in this case.

Which part of official Android 4.4.4 is unsupported, exactly? This is not unsupported.
What, exactly, do you think a 'local phone expert' would do aside from referring me immediately right back to you?
Also, what is, exactly, a 'local phone expert'? Do you mean something like an IT professional who provides setup/support/troubleshooting for cell phones/PC/laptops and their related networks, and has for many years? (edit: It's a trap, I just described myself! =P)

I'm sorry about the hassle, but thank you for the feedback and for being persistant.
It looks like we had some web code in our August 10 update that caused this problem in older mobile browsers. It should be fixed now.

Steam Support has finally fixed the login issue. Thank you everyone for your report tickets in Support. Together we were able to reach out to Steam about the our problem, they heard us and the problem was solved!
p.s. But still there is a feeling that our problems with you will not end there. With every new update, a similar problem may occur and indeed, our phones are closer than ever to the end of compatibility with most applications. Nevertheless, I advise you to buy new (even if not expensive) phones on the freshest versions of Android to avoid similar problems in the future!
