[SOLVED] (see you next year) Mobile app broken (Same symptoms like last year)
- Suddenly after yesterday's maintenance can't view my activity tabs, forums etc on mobile.
It's stuck "verifying login info.." forever. Only chat works.

Restart doesn't matter
I won't relogin cause this happens every year and people who relogged couldn't log back in when this issue occurs.

EDIT: This solution didn't work for me but it might for you:

I found something that has worked for me! its all got to do with steam and googles webview! i cant believe it worked!

(USE AT OWN RISK) i'm not responsible for your mistakes.

All you need to do is download from the google play store:

Android System WebView

Once its installed restart your phone then login to your steam happy trading!!!!!!

Please let me know if this has helped anyone else or i'll delete this post if it hasnt this should fix future problems as well. :steamhappy:

Don't bother with support they just print out "reinstall app", "turn on/off device and clear cache" , "update your OS" , "call your phone company" copy paste replies.

They have no idea of the nature of this issue and that its not on our end.
Also its not just Android i seen people with same issues with iOS and Windows phones too.

Some devices and OS versions are unaffected by this.
Reinstall does diddly squat cause its a netcode issue. Doing a reinstall just prevents you from ever logging in untill this issue is resolved on Valve's side

NEVER REINSTALL OR RELOG when this issue happens.

Yeah thats true but im still ganna report it. Cant seem to fine the place i reported it last time.

I wrote in the very message you quoted. You won't be able to log in.
Same goes for loging out don't log out or you won't be able to log back in as long as this issue is present.

This is something that needs to be fixed on Valve's side we can't do anything about it except get a phone model with a specific OS version that is immune to this yearly problem.

In no where does that say that uninstalling reinstalling the mobile app will trigger a ban, it's all web browser/client stuff

I wonder if i can find my old posts from last year on this subject. How long did it take to get fixed last year, do you maybe remember? @Alucard. and i forgot to mention on my tablet the app is still working fine. i see it on version 2.3.12 and on my phone that's not working its 2.3.9... mmm i wonder can i update without losing my steam guard authentication. im to scared to try.:steamsad:

Wow go look at the play store for steam app latest reviews lots of people cant login doesn't matter which version. LOL.
