Steam mobile login just keeps buffering

The steam mobile app is not letting me login, when I try to it just keep on buffering endlessly.
I have tried so many things trying to fix this issue but none are working, reinstalling the app, clearing the app caches, turning my wifi on and off and restarting my mobile.

At some point I got so desperate I removed my mobile Authenticator to see if that was the issue, no it's not. Now i'm just on my email Authenticator and steam mobile is just completely dead for me. Also the fact that removing the mobile Authenticator is not letting me trade or use the steam market for 15 days.

Is there anyone who also has/had this problem and found a solution?

I found something that has worked for me! its all got to do with steam and googles webview! i cant believe it worked!

(USE AT OWN RISK) i'm not responsible for your mistakes.

All you need to do is download from the google play store:

Android System WebView

Once its installed restart your phone then login to your steam happy trading!!!!!!

Please let me know if this has helped anyone else or i'll delete this post if it hasnt this should fix future problems as well.

That app isn't even shown for my phone because my phone is too old.

Just logged out of my Steam mobile app, can't login again, nothing happens after tapping Sign In button.
Tested on version 2.3.12 (current one) and 2.2.1 (the one I used for the past years).

I see some outgoing traffic, then incoming traffic, but app stays on login page. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Putting my mobile in factory mode fixed the issue for me gladly. Im not telling you to do it, its all your own choice!

Yay. okay. weird fix. Factory Reset worked here too.

Which means everything on the phone is gone. @everyone: do backup your data from your phone on your computer before factory reset! SDcard data is fine tho. I knew this, I lost nothing of value. all good.

After login the app wanted a steam guard code which I didnt had, but there was the option to get a SMS code to unlock, used that and I have the fancy " has not been using the Mobile Authenticator for 7 days" now. so 15days tradehold for the next week. ezpz.

Thanks for the factory reset hint. Kinda last resort stuff really.
