Remote installation of a game ignores local default library preference
Mobile side.
Android Steam app, downloaded and installed from the Google's Play.Market.

PC side.
Windows 10 x64 with auto-update enabled.
Steam client is installed on the drive S: and configured to use two paths for installing the games - the first is Steam client installation sub-folder (which is can't be deleted) and the second is on the drive P:, which is marked as the default library.

What's wrong.
If i wish to use the mobile app to install the game (which is, for example, I just bought via the app) and have it installed when I come back home, then I hit the install button in the app, right? In that case, PC Steam client installs the game into the Steam client's sub-folder, which is located on the drive S: in my case. But, as far as I understanding the meaning of the "default library" option, the game should be installed into the folder located on the drive P:, right?

I have the same issue, 2 libraries on diffenrent Hard Drives, H: and S:. S: ist the default library. Games remotly download with Android Steam app end up on the much smaller H: drtve.

This is a bug. I hope it get fixed. Its a very good feature but useless for me.
Hint, i guess that the drive where the download starts is probably the one which is first in alphabet, and it doesn't matter which is the default one. And there would be more users having this problem, i'm pretty sure we are not the only ones having 2 drives. But probably the wrong letter first... may be i'll test it and rename the drive letter, hoping steam not to crash completly when i have some time left.

Just ran into this issue myself on the last 2 games I remotely installed. Despite my default library being setup on a larger 1TB drive the games automatically download to my much smaller C: drive.
I would be fine not having the C: drive library except for a few utilities that don't run properly from any other drive.
To be honest I didn't even know this functionality was available until just last month and it seems like I could find it quite useful if it installed to the configured default library or let you choose a library if you have multiple.

It actually defaults to the last one used in the desktop client. The last few dozen tests I ran did exactly that.

That doesn't seem to be the case with mine. I don't currently have anything installed to my C: drive except SteamVR and Virtual Desktop which have been installed for months and I have installed several games through the desktop client to my M: drive since then.

Perhaps updates for those software packages reset the default location you are referring to?

I think I will stick with my tried and true method of VPN and then Remote Desktop works correctly 100% of the time.

Yes. Updates install in the original destination pathway. Only if there is no more space to do so, it will use the next pathway listed.

Over two years later, and this is still an issue. By now i would have thought they'd let you cancel a download, or at least specify which steam folder to use.
Currently I currently have about 20 game downloads paused because steam filled up my two small SSD's, even tho the default steam library is on a standard HDD with plenty of space.
