Mobile Authenticator annoyment
Alright so I have recently bought a new phone and decided to switch my steam account to my new phone everything goes well i click use this device as my authenticator code guard buttt instead of everything going well i go to the market to sell something and see the god awful annoying ass item hold
so i am here asking the community
How do I remove the item hold wait all i did was switch devices not enable it for the first time as steam thinks (i've had it enabled on my old phone for litteraly months without item hold)
anyone got a fix?

My hold is for 15 days, I have been on my steam authenticator app today and previous days throughout the weeks and it still holds my items from being sold. last month I tried to sell more than two items at a time and it completely locked me out of selling items for 2 weeks. I want to stop my account from doing this, when I click on the "Learn how to stop the need for holds" It just gives me the round-robin to download the app. I got to the link on the app...... does anyone have any idea?

my phone was already authenticated. Tried to trade today - 15day wait. Cant even do it that way, coz it will expire before 15days.
Thought it was because of new laptop I needed to re-authenticate but its still not working??

Hmm i just went to the Support page, on my mobile
- Note regarding being unable to access cookies came up, (tho cant find a way to provide access in my settings)
- FAQ was the other route and it says re 'Mobile Authenticator Added'
"..adding an authenticator does not immediately remove existing restrictions. Trades created within the first 7 days of adding.... will still have up to a 15 day trade hold..... If your account was already protected by Steam Guard via email, you will have no new restrictions from using trading or the Community market..."
if it didnt have mobile or email Steam Guard before, there is 15 day restriction because Steam Guard has been recently enabled.

so perhaps your new authentication means 15 day waiting period, but not 15 days every trade, just from when you activated your Authenticator.

saying that, im not sure why my account had the restriction. I dealt with this ages ago, and had traded etc.

and as said, my phone had already been authenticated. so ??

i followed it, but it didnt seem to change the listing holds for me, and i was trading in January, so unsure why i had a 15 day hold in the first place, unless it was coz i hadnt used the Authenticator on this new laptop, i suppose.

at least you only have a 2 day hold - it sounds like once that is over, your listing holds are removed from then on, because you have now activated the Authenticator?

The thing i overlooked with the FAQ and how to, was to log in to my Laptop, using the Authenticator.
Every time I tried this, it wouldnt ask me for Authenticator code.
Then I worked out I had to change preferences, account tab, bottom of the page, to "dont save credentials on this computer"
This meant that I had to manually type in my user name & password, and then it asked for Authenticator code.

But it sounds like you have it sorted, now that you only have 2 days hold left to go. :cozyspaceengineersc:

yall do know im talking about the app being faulty not my phone right?
the phone doesnt have anything to do with steam

yep - my account hasnt come of the 15 day hold either. it says, on the trade page, "coz i havnt used the authenticaor in 7days"
even tho i had traded in january, since we started this post, i had re activated my authenticator, and its been 5days, so we will see what happens in 2 days from now.

there's been a few odd things re: steam lately, this authenticator, two of my steam "friends" both cant upload pictures, server is unavailable on some tabs, but not others at random times (ie library, activity, store page etc)
