Steam Link Controls not working on non-steam games

I have an ipad 6th gen with IOS 13+, i had moonlight with the xbox one controller working on it very well...than i built an AMD rig. AMD link is not working, there are no controls period from the xbox controller. I've tried kino console, it works but apparently i cant click the xbox controller thumbsticks in...which is also usually how you run in FPS games. There is also no button for start which means you cant get past the menu of many games.

it works very well for dying light for example or vampyre, i tried adding in Microsoft store games (Forza, gears of war, metro 2033) non of them work for controls. I cant even test borderlands 3 since i wasn't able to add it into steam...probably protected by epic games.

I read somewhere that setting steam to run in administrator will fix this control issue, it did partially. Now when i run forza for example i can get through the menu's fine but when i try and drive some of the controls are not working, for example the triggers which is also the gas pedal in the game. Can anyone help me?
