Steam Guard error when trying to activate it

When I press "Add Authenticator" it pops up with this error everytime: Oops! Sorry, there was an error when we tried to access your Steam Guard status."

Errrr.. what to do? I have tried to re-install app, logging out from every client and restarting my phone. Soon to give up.

You are not the only one with that issue. There are others with the exact issue since the last hours/days.
