It changes according to the language of your mobile phone.

Steam App uses the language settings of your phone. Change your system default language, and App language is going to change.

No, your system language is language of the Steam App.

Steam rlly gotta fix this... Like they require everyone to have the app installed but they can't bother to develop it well. I actually prefer the browser version on mobile, because you can see your steam balance easier, you can see pending friend invites and you can customize the language, and I'm sure that's not all the features the mobile app is missing, but it's just the ones that really annoy me so far

I agree this needs to be changed. A lot of us like to have our phones set to our native languages, while at the same time avoiding the ridiculously cringe-inducing 'translations' that Steam is using.

Either do proper localizations or let us choose a language ourselves, you can't just run everything through Google Translate and call it a day.

The worst part is that the phone app actually includes a language setting in options, but it doesn't work.

This... https://store.steampowered.com/account/languagepreferences

Seems to work fine for me.

I've tried that, but the Steam app completely ignores it and follow my phone settings instead.
I 'solved' the problem by setting my phone to English, though I really don't think I should have to do that.
