Steam authentication through SMS
Can't steam provide a new authentication system for brick phone users?
How about sending a code through SMS?
When you log in, you get the code through SMS.
When you trade/use steam market, you recieve a code through SMS, type it in your PC steam.

You know you can disable the steam mobile authenticator even if you only have your phone with SMS available. So there will be no security problems.

As a 2G phone user I'd like to solve this problem of having trade holds everytime I want to do something with my items. Even Valve said 'no solution' to this, really.

Needed to get a glass of water after seeing your post.

What is the problem now? Can i not emulate android even if i have an android device?

What about emulating linux on a virtual machine? Is that piracy?

What other solutions you have for Op's problem?

linux is freeware.

not to bypass the actual 2 factor part of the 2 factor authentication.

there are $20 pay as you go andriod phones that you can link up to your wi-fi without using the phones data.

You are not bypassing anything.

using your PC to do the 2fa is bypassing the "2 factor" part. you are only using 1 system, not 2. that is bypassing.

Bare jokes, mate. Valve has never stated that you should have a physical device for Steam guard.

Then you won't be able to use steam outdoors. The reason I suggested SMS is because you can have both security and being able to use Steam through multiple devices.

Then you are out of luck for now. Your only solution is to buy a cheap android phone.
