Forums are completely unreadable on device
All forums are not taking up full width on screen so the text labels for the thread titles are truncated to a point of being unreadable. The forums are entirely unusable in this form.

I have the exact same issue as the OP. I have had this issue for a long time, across multiple Android phones, finally I have gotten tired of it, and I'm trying to fix it. Same garbled text while viewing discussions via the Steam app. I have to open a browser on mobile to see them correctly. I really like the app, and am hoping for a developer to see this, to finally put this bug to rest. After contacting Steam support here is what they have suggested and I have done.

Hello,

Clearing your Android's App Cache has been known to solve these types of issues. Please follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue:

1) Go to the phones' Settings menu (not your Steam apps menu).
2) Find Apps (or Applications, depending on your device) in the menu, then locate the Steam Mobile App.
3) Tap on Storage and the button labeled CLEAR CACHE will become available.
WARNING: Do not click the CLEAR DATA button, as this will reset your Authenticator.
4) After doing so, completely turn the phone off and then back on and retest the issue.

If the issue persists, let us know.

I'm sorry to hear you are still experiencing these issues.

Please check the following:
Make sure your device has the most recent OS update.
Check the requirements of the Steam Mobile App for your OS and make sure your device meets those requirements.
Check that your Steam Mobile App is up-to-date. Update the Steam Mobile App in your phone's app store, or download directly to your phone at this link: Setup Guide.

Please note: Disabling, fully reinstalling, or clearing data for the app will reset your Authenticator.

We recommend using a Wi-Fi connection when installing the app.

I'm sorry we don't have a solution for you. I recommend you post your experience and details of the hardware/OS version over on this ongoing thread about the issue: https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/8/135511294068517504/

It does look like you aren't the only one. Adding your details to this thread helps our developers hone in on the underlying cause of the problem for a potential fix.

Regards,
Brian

Ok, so I have tried everything they have suggested and still no luck. I have even done a complete factory reset on my LG G5 Verizon and only had the Steam App is the only app on the device (besides the stock apps) and that didn't work either.

Chrome Stable is my Webview implementation.
Verizon LG G5 (VS987)
Hardware Version Rev 1.0
Android Version 7.0
Android Security Patch Level January 1, 2018
Software Version VS9872DA
Software Status Official
Security Software version MDF v2.0 Release 4
Build Number NRD90U

I also have Kernel version and Baseband version if needed...

If any Steam developers would like to work with me on this issue, I am MORE than willing to help find out what the cause is. Thank you very much for reading this. Hope it gathers some attention to the right people :)

Here we are in 2022 and still unreadable..
You have to change the font size on your device. It's a well known issue anyway.
