Online Status
I love the Mobile application, but lately its been causing me a lot of grief, setting my status to online even when the applications long been closed (everytime I unlock my phone, I appear online on mobile unless I open it and log out or set to offline). Worse yet, opening the application seems to set my status back to online on my computer, so even if I were to log out on the app, I'm still online in a sense. This issue is making me seem like a real jerk to friends as it appears I'm constantly online but never replying to their messages, when in reality I'm at work or sleeping.

In the past I'd have liked to have seen status options similar to the desktop version (away, busy, offline) but only if it would sync with the computer. Unlike now where I can be busy on desktop, but open my phone and suddenly I'm online; I'm still busy, the fact that I'm looking at a different screen doesn't change that. Communication between devices would be lovely.

I already see the obvious answer until there is an update is to just sign out of both, I'm just curious is anybody else has this issue.

If you are on the app it considers you online mobile, not really an issue, just how its designed

The point is I'm not on the app. Say I'm online on my computer; if I go offline on my computer then open the app, I am now online mobile (obviously). However ofter I close the app completely from the background, it will now have me online on the computer, as well as still setting me online on mobile every time I unlock my phone. Going in and going offline on mobile does not sign me back off on the computer. So computer has to sit through being online until it eventually goes to snooze.

Like a fun little thing going on right now, I'm logged out, not signed out, logged out of mobile, yet it still showing Im online on a mobile device. So it could be possible my application is buggin out or just hates me.

Hmm that's awfully weird my friend maybe you try re installing steam?

Perhaps, though uninstall/reinstall of the mobile app would mean the authenticator would be disabled for a short period. Though a security risk in the span of a couple minutes is unlikely, the trade hold would suck. Especially if there's the possibility it does nothing. I contacted Steam Support with the issue back in January. The only advice they had to give was go to the discussions board. Basically my fingers are just crossed for a possible update to fix, as it wasn't always like this.

I got the same issue. I have't been on Steam on my phone for a while, but it still shows that I am. Did you find a way to fix it?

Not sure. Been staying offline in general for the past couple weeks. I've popped online here and there on one device or another more recently and nobody has pointed out I'm online when I'm not. Though last night I recieved a messaged 6 hours after the last time I was active. I forgot to completely log out, but idk if mobile still said I was onine or the person was just leaving me a message for later. What with this problem, majortiy of the time I would noticed it was when I'd get an influx of messages after being inactive all day, or somebody pointed out my status. Or the obvious, you're on the computer and see it says you are on mobile when your phone is asleep next to you.
