You MUST update your motherboard BIOS before even trying any other stuff

Here's some info on the issue.
Basically the issue means that any steam game using CEG (which is basically all AAA titles like xcom civ5) will do 'odd' things like crash, hang, bsod, etc.

Civ 5 rebooted my pc as per and the info given under event viewer was:
Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected.

Any assistance in translating this into, ahem, plain english would be much appreciated!
I did have a thought in the wee hours of the morning, as you do, could it be my ram? I ask as its kingston hyper x which is intel xmp certified quad channel to 2133mhz. When I spoke to kingston (because it would only run at 1333 on an amd cpu/motherboard), they said it was designed more for intel but should run fine on my setup, they just said it would be very difficult to overclock it, which I havent attempted to do as of yet. The memory is khx2133c11d3k4/8gx (4X2gb dimms).

So now I am baffled, its a brand new pc and in the first week I played s.t.a.l.k.e.r. and civ 5, I installed xcom and now all games crash, Im guessing the performance is ramped up during the maicious software test, as with a game i guess, and the pc restarts itself, hmm. I also have unticked the option of the computer to restart when an error occurs so I should get the bsod, but it still restarts.
The problem has got a little worse too, it sometimes just loops round, restarting and almost loading windows then restarting again, if I leave it for a few minutes then it starts up and runs ok... until I try a game or other intensive programme, surfing the net is ok.
This has led me to believe it may be a faulty PSU, I have a 700w Alpine unit, and by all accounts its cheap and nasty, the only 'budget' part of my build tbh. A new high quaility PSU is turning up tomorrow for me to try. If this doesn't fix the problem then Its back to the drawing board.
I did try repair windows too.
Testing your memeory is very easy so I would do it as a first step and likely cause. I prefer memtest86 but other programs likely work good to.
Guess what, the game runs now - woooohoooooo. No idea if my psu kept cutting out or if it was the bios, or just a steam download/corruption issue, but I'm so chuffed, and the pc is much quieter with the better psu too :o)
Thanks all for your help.
