Whenever i try to add friends it says i have exeeded the amount of friends i can have im new and dont know what to do. HELP

How do you have hours into Portal 2 but it doesn't appear on your games list? All I am seeing is SR3 which is a free to play for the weekend deal.

Maybe he has Portal 2 on PS3 , ant it syncs the console version playtime with the Steam account.

The PS3 game, comes with a PC Retail key for Portal 2 in a voucher. That code unlocks the PC version of the game, so it'll grant you access to all community features, such as adding friends.
Of course, this only applies to a "brand new" copy of the console game.

Ok, i see, so if you want to have a "full" Steam account, you have to do what they said above, buy a game (a cheap one like Fortix 1), or a TF2 item (Team fortrees 2 is free 2 play). I'm not sure, but i think if you activate any game key from bundles or something like that, that'll do too.
