You can have your facebook clone, I just login to play my games.

I still remember how awful Steam was when it was released, how long it took for even the friends list to work right. Years we waited for what amounted at the time to an ICQ/MSN chat clone with the added feature that it told our friends what game we were playing. Amazing.

I want an option to turn it off. It's not much to ask.

lol the trolls! Give the community a try, there really isn't much different from usual. There was always that page that shows what your friends do. I find the new community fun, needless, but if one so wants to make use of it then so be it.

ROFL the hate for change :D This stuff will help friends and clans keep track of eachother. If you really hate steam so much then stop playing all multiplayer games.
