What is a "Gamepad"?

I'm not entirely sure if this is a real question ... But a gamepad is a controller for gaming, much like you'll find with xbox360 and ps3. You can even get adapters to use your controllers from the ps3/xbox for your PC. You can buy them on amazon and the like.

I personally prefer the Xbox pad. The PS stick layout gives me thumb cramps

Gamepads are also available for the PC's, but they're slightly different. A PC gamepad is what you get when you cut a keyboard in half, and change the arrangement of buttons slightly to allow for greater access. They're slightly larger than a mouse, and some come with support for your wrist so you don't get sore after hours of playing. In terms of price, they're generally (depending on the brand) cheaper than a keyboard, but when it comes down to it you're better of just getting a nice keyboard as a gamepad won't be very useful when it comes to things outside of the gaming world.

Sometimes I have used the ps3 gamepad with "motion in joy" or something like that. It works as if it were the 360 gamepad.
