Best 'Metroidvania' type games on Steam?

With the release of Guacamelee! today on Steam, now seems like a good time to talk about other quality games from the subgenre that are available.

I've never played Cave Story , but I've heard great things. What else is there?

Bunny must die is a really fun japanese indie metroidvania, but it's still on Steam greenlight. It's been there for about a year now, so give it some support. (you can already get it from Playism, Desura, and Gamer's gate, but it is technically on steam.)

metroidvania? are you implying a merge between metrod and castlevania? cause that thought kinda sickens me :/, why not try searching segas page theres quite a few there and secondly they need just plain old metroid on here....and aint nothing wrong with freeware rather play it than pay overprice for a game, unless its one ive played before that i like also easiest way to lv l up your profile :P

Seriously... with a name such as _AlucardDracula_, I would think you would know what the genre of game thats being spoken of, SoTN, super metroid, AoS, LoI..., so no not a crossover, or such nonsence, its a style or genre of game in the flavor of metroid or castlevania, typically a platformer where you can/need to backtrack for for upgrades and progression ect.

All joking aside... Really dude? The thought sickens you? Ten bucks says you're a Symphony of the Night fanboy and you had no idea that the game's genre is called Metroidvania. Aria of Sorrow, Dawn of Sorrow, anyone? Its just Castlevania that involves exploration and back-tracking, i.e. non-linear.

Well, that's the problem... people make up all sorts of names for the "same old". I really have no real idea what a "metroidvania" game is supposed to be either -- every other game or so is labelled as "metoidvania", so as far as I can tell it could just as well mean you can run left and right.
