Seriously... with a name such as _AlucardDracula_, I would think you would know what the genre of game thats being spoken of, SoTN, super metroid, AoS, LoI..., so no not a crossover, or such nonsence, its a style or genre of game in the flavor of metroid or castlevania, typically a platformer where you can/need to backtrack for for upgrades and progression ect.

All joking aside... Really dude? The thought sickens you? Ten bucks says you're a Symphony of the Night fanboy and you had no idea that the game's genre is called Metroidvania. Aria of Sorrow, Dawn of Sorrow, anyone? Its just Castlevania that involves exploration and back-tracking, i.e. non-linear.
Well, that's the problem... people make up all sorts of names for the "same old". I really have no real idea what a "metroidvania" game is supposed to be either -- every other game or so is labelled as "metoidvania", so as far as I can tell it could just as well mean you can run left and right.
