I for one am (even with the issues that pop up) pleased with the service they offer.
This is coming from someone that's been locked out of the Market for a week. Two more hours to go before i get my Market capabilities back.
I would like to know why they would put skyrim on sale but not discount any other TES title more than base discounts? All other TES titles have been as low as $5 prior to the steam sales but they didn't dip that low at all during this sale.
It's a bit silly. Valve does have a vested interest in making sure that they are selling copies on their platform. Apparently Skyrim's pricing is a bit of a sticky wicket to a lot of people, who knew.
GMG and a lot of the discount sites go out of their way to cheat the system. PlaySC uses Korean prices and passes us the discount. Don't be naive. Why would Valve give a damn what other people's games sell for? Don't you think they would have dropped the price of say Black Ops 2 to match the physical disc by now? Same exact product...it's even a steamworks game...the disc version is 29.99, the Steam only version is 49.99 or worse.
Valve give a damn because it's how they earn money.
I'd wager that they earn more money from hosting the game than they do from selling 100 copies of said game.
