Who else feels let down on this summer sale?
I'm tired of the repeats, no publisher packs, and their games not being cheaper than their competitors. Almost every new game has been cheaper or bundled cheaper on amazon or other websites. Until they put more effort into this summer sale, I will not buy anymore games. I've particapted in two previous steam summer sales, and they have all been better than this one. I wen't to the store on thursday to buy steam cards for my wallet. I've spent more money on amazon since thursday because their prices have been cheaper, and they use steam as drm. Am I alone, or does anyone else feel let down on this summer sale?

True, but they're not featured, nor are they as plentiful as previous sales.
It hasn't been too bad. I really liked the summer achievements and such but the cards are ok I guess.
I also agree.
The worst part is that they keep putting the same games in the daily deals.
And there have been some terrible games up there. Especially some of the "community" votes.
Euro Truck 2013 sim? Really???
And this current vote, all DLC for F2P mmos.

Terrible.

I was hoping for more indie bundles or what not.
There are publisher packs? I have only seen 1 and that was the valve collection. Where may I find these packs you speak of?

well last winter sale was just SO amazing with the THQ bundle (and subsequent THQ going under)... kinda hard to live upto that deal.

Also.. *most* of the steam prices were "about the same" as other sources (amazon/greenman) during their sales) but steam had a larger variety, much more then say amazon did. Most games were on sale, you just had to look past the front page. I agree with you about the repeats were annoying and the lack of publisher packs, and that there could have been more bundles, but I got a ton of good deals on single games I had been holding out on (Witcher series/ Fallout 3 - New Vegas / Portal 2)

I did, they both featured mulitple publisher packs for 49.99. I've seen literally two. Rockstar which I own, and Valve which I own. Theirs been Franchise packs, but they haven't been so good. For refrence, I want to buy Assassin Creed Creed Pack but I'm bot going to 60-80 bucks on it. Last year it was like 34 dollars (dont know for sure). This year I would purchase it for same without AC3, or in the mid 40s with AC3.

I think the sale has been great so far and I have seen quite a few publisher packs. They have had plenty of great games 60-80% off. The only thing I am somewhat disappointed in is having the same games on flash sales and commnunity votes.
which lead to daily deals lol.

Shrug.

I got back into PC gaming around the holiday sale and other sites typically beat the Steam prices as well. Just hunt around for the best prices. As long as you're getting the games cheap, I'm not sure why you care lol.
I'm fairly satisfied with the Summer Sale so far I'd say, caught me some new games. :)

Because Valve use to never have competition, and so many people loved their prices on the holidays. It started last summer with amazon, and now tons of companies host huge holiday specials. I've been doing the same as you; shopping around. I've bought tons on Amazon becuase their prices were lower than steam. It just made me mad that most of these games on Amazon use steam for DRM, and their prices are lower valves.
i participated in last years summer sale and winter sale. It seems like many of the games were on sale during the mid week madness for similar prices and we may be getting conditioned to low prices and the expectation for even lower prices is realistic. Also, one of the things affecting my purchases this year is that i became a PS plus member and many of the games were offered for free that i would have normally purchased during a steam sale

I had no problems finding and buying tons of deals this summer sale, not to mention the boat load of stuff I bought via GMG summer sale. Too each their own if you can't find any deals on Steam go somewhere else. Your money, your rules

Your right, I had high expectations for valve. I hoped they were going to beat their competition since they started this whole summer sale thing, and the fact that their competion is selling steam codes lol. Maybe they will kick it in gear for the final part of the sale.
