Game Like Final Fantasy Chronicles: My Life as a King

While simply being a small, downloadable title on the wii, FFC: My Life as a King was one of my favorite games on it. I want to find a game that is kind of similar to My Life as a King because it does not look like they will make a second one. I have been looking around for a while but cannot find much, so I am turning to the good people here on these forums for help.

Are there any other games like My Life as a King out there? And When I say this, I mostly mean the combat system and it's playstyle where I, as the King, never see a fight or battle.


I like that I can simply hang out in my kingdom while I send parties of warriors off to go on quests, raid dungeons, and defeat bosses.
I like that I can create custom parties for quests or individual warriors will group up with each other if they have the same quest.
I like that I can choose the skills my warriors learn and pick which missions are best for them to go on.
I like that if I dont have some kind of strategy when I create my Kingdom, my kingdom will suffer. (If all the shops my warriors go to are completely spread out, they won't leave town until late at night, forcing them to return without having been exploring all day.)

This type of simulation/strategy is what I'm looking for.

Point 2 and 3 are sort of available in the final fantasy tactics series. You do battle yourself though.

I have tried tactics, war of the lion, and Disgaea 3: Detention. I did not really like them though.

Yeah, I would definitely be interested in a game similar to My Life as a King.

Finding another game that encompasses everything Final Fantasy Chronicles: My Life as a King has is neigh impossible. Some games just were not popular enough to be made into shovelware.

i have to say this game is a little known gem and i would love to see someone make a full reboot of this style. but the truth is that nothing will ever match up to this soundtrack which stands tall in its own right let alone paired with a graphically appealing art style intuitive gameplay and a overall immersive world if i could i would tweek the game mechanics caps and tweek the story to match so you can keep playing into a much larger late game buying more areas and added building types ect i think what we enjoy most is watching this empty space slowly come to life filled with people traversing the places that we created not from a top down but with yourself on the streets being able to interact with each and every one of them and not some random pedestrian set pieces-that said the combat was 1/2 the fun
