EA Publish Valve games in countries where Valve can't publish in easily. They have done so for quite some time by now.
Valve bought in one of the guys who was part of Dota so they could make Dota2.
The game Vindictus uses the Source Engine and it's a stand alone for Europe people. On the USA side it's on Steam but not in Europe and other parts of the world.
The creator of Counter Strike have made his own sequel to Counter Strike and it's not on Steam. I think it's using the Source engine as well.
EA has of lately pulled their games from Steam in order to keep them on Origin only. So it might not show up on Steam at all.
Guess it's only for Origin then...
