Titanfall - Steam or Origin?
So I just saw gameplay of Titanfall by Respawn entertainment. First of all, I must say I'm quite amazed that it's actually using the Source engine developed by Valve.

However, I can easily see a big conflict here. The game is published by EA but uses the Source engine developed by Valve. Will the game be on Steam (because of the fact the game uses Valve's Source engine) or will the game be on Origin (because of the fact that EA's the publisher) or will they be on both and if so, will Steam and Origin players be able to play together?

EDIT: Forgot to mention that TitanFall will be available on PC so the question is technically valid.

It's Origin. If you go to GMG and look at Titanfall it says 'requires Origin account.'

- The only times EA released a Valve game was when Valve brought their games to Xbox or Play Station.
- The only times games were made by other companies but Valve still brought them to Steam was when the games had something to do with one of Valve's games (Half-Life extensions).
- Valve has never before given the Source Engine to a company in order to create a game that is completely stand-alone.
- EA has already released games on Steam, thus them releasing this game on Steam is more then likely.

According to these facts I would say yes, but if not it was not unexpected.

EA Publish Valve games in countries where Valve can't publish in easily. They have done so for quite some time by now.

Valve bought in one of the guys who was part of Dota so they could make Dota2.

The game Vindictus uses the Source Engine and it's a stand alone for Europe people. On the USA side it's on Steam but not in Europe and other parts of the world.

The creator of Counter Strike have made his own sequel to Counter Strike and it's not on Steam. I think it's using the Source engine as well.

EA has of lately pulled their games from Steam in order to keep them on Origin only. So it might not show up on Steam at all.

Yeah well if use use anything to make a profit from another comapny you would expect a piece of the action , ( Source engine ) and the game does look as if its going to be big , would not be surprised to see it on all systems

You should learn to read.

Being that this is an EA published title, Titanfall on PC will active on Origin and requires permanent internet connection to play (before you gripe about DRM, this is a multiplayer focused game after all).

Clearly going to be an Origin only game on PC based on that single sentence (grammer errors and mis-spellings included).

If Steam and Origin both get it (which is what I think) you will be able to connect between people using both. My friends have Burnout Paradise on Steam, I have it on Origin and we have no trouble connecting to each other whatsoever.

Sad days...

Any official confirmation on that (Crysis 2 was eventually put on Steam and that's an EA game)?
