looking for a few good tower defense games. If possible list a few that are available on steam.

Sol Survivor is also a nice tower defense game and you can place your towers everywhere, but i liked Defense Grid more.

Toy Soldiers is pretty amazing.
A poor port of a good game is still pretty good.

Give Sanctum a shot. Its tower defense and fps in one game.

Dungeon defenders is one of the most packed experiences, and offers Steam Workshop with all that sexy modded content :)

Toy Soldiers is fun if it works for you (GFWL title, there are known issues, though it works for me)

Sanctum is fun, I'll be honest, it wasn't worth a buy for me but I did enjoy it's free weekend

Orcs Must Die is a TD/Hero of sorts as well and succeeds in mayhem and strategy

Tower Wars can be awesome or lame, sadly, because it has a high learning curve and sometimes things don't go as planned it seems, but that's just the case when fighting other players

Orcs Must Die/Dungeon Defenders are basically interactive tower defense.
I prefer Dungeon Defenders, lots of mods and stuff to do, its pretty great.
