Big picture as a big broblem

I would like to inquire if I am the only one that has the "Big picture" mode activating without any prompting and with no reason. Even if I have my computer locked without the hideous TV mode, and I unlock my computer and am greeted with unhandy fullscreen application known as "The big picture". Today as I woke up, I noticed that there was a new window open at my steam, and that window seemed to be that same hidous interface.

So, I would like to know if this is some idiotic method of Valve trying to force players to use the consolificated mode of the Steam interface, rather than letting us choose in the future, because I have no intention of having Steam as my desktop, I already have my Win7 desktop, and I would like to keep it that way. The best thing about steam is that it hides itself at the taskbar when I'm not using it, and has a PC frienly interface I'm familiar with, so if there is any possibility do completely disable, uninstall and burn the console mode in inferno, please do let me know. And if this surprise activation of the TV mode is a feature DISABLE THAT FEATURE AS FIRST PRIORITY BECAUSE I WANT TO KEEP USING PY PC AS A PC, NOT AS A FRIGGIN CONSOLE! If I'd want to have a console, I would go and buy one. And if it's a bug, fix it please.

Thank god then. It seemed to load smoe update on Steam restart, so hopefully that is fixed. Luckily Valve seems to have much more sense interfacewise than Microsoft.

Wondering if I should delete the topic as it hopefully is absolete then, but I'll leave it hanging for a while.

The exact same thing happened to me as well, i was watching ValveTime news on youtube and BAAM Big picture started by itself. That started to scare me a little :) But after the update it was fixed.

It's definitely not fixed. My client is up to date but I'm still getting random big picture startups. I just had one pop up while playing a game.
