Huh. I dunno. I play MC once in a while, and I'm OK with the obvious game reality of blocky constructions. Minecraft's reality draws from our own, but never trys to recreate reality.
Seeing a realistic house object and then laying down blocks of reinforced concrete next to it really messes with my immersion and suspension of disbelief.
I am not a fan of mixing voxel construction and crafting with pseudo-realistic environments. I'm also not a fan of QTEs for trivial tasks ALL THE TIME. They can also mess with my immersion. One prime example: setting "my" thumb after being shot in FC3.
State of Decay is an XBOX port. FC3 is about as close as I get to console games.
Couldn't get into Zafehouse. PZ is too early for me to look at, but doesn't seem quite right either.
I guess my answer is: none. I'm trying the non-zombie survival games (DS, SYABH), and they seem better so far. Maybe they have other ideas than just jumping on the zombie-trend.
Not sure what "DS" and "SYABH" stand for, but if they're survival based, I might give them a look over and see what I think
Don't Starve - final release on Steam, last free update was just released. DLC is in the works. unique artsy-look isometric game. On week-long 50% special as I right this.
Sir, You Are Being Hunted - early access on Steam but playable, seemingly good progress with development and recent updates. First-person "shooter" - perhaps more of an avoidance than combat game. Definately NOT a hunker down in your base game - more like survive long enough to get out.
p.s. Both are single-player, but there is a co-op mod for DS that I have not tried. Dunno if co-op is planed for SYABH.
Minecraft , despite having stereotype of being a kiddie game, is a very good game, especially if you play survival on hard. Actually after recent updates it is hard on "normal" setting as well.
I mean they have zombies banging on your door, which can be terrifying.
If we mention games that aren't focused on Zombies and are strictly survival then Don't Starve Is Definitely the best. Do not let its cartoony appearance fool you. Very good game.
Sir, You Are Being Hunted is good. Despite being in Alpha it plays to me like almost a finished product. But in it you are hunted by humanoid robots.
Roguelike games also count as survival to some extent and I would highly recommend Legend of Grimrock
