HELP
I Have Been Trying To Log Out Of Steam But It Says "YOU MUST CLOSE BLACK MESA BEFORE CLOSING STEAM HURR DURR" (No It Did Not Say Hurr Durr Im Just Adding Emphasis On Its Idioticy)I Am Not Trying To Close Steam I Just Want To Logout And I Dont Have Black Mesa Running WHAT THE CRAP IS GOING ON

ctrl + alt + del > go to process tab > close steam.exe process.

It Says If An Open Program Is Associated With This Proccess It Will
Close And You Will Lose Any Unsaved Data.If You End A System
Process It MIght Result In A Unstable System

Black Mesa is still running in the processes. Since it's a Source mod, you'll probably find that it's called hl2.exe. End this process and Steam will allow you to exit. I strongly recommend NOT killing the Steam process, this can cause other problems.

I was having the exact same problem with Borderlands 2, but it seems the recent update has fixed it. The only option is to kill the process as has already been mentioned and restart Steam. For some reason it seems certain games get 'stuck' in Steam somehow even when you're clearly not playing them.
