the sheer number of them will influence the "overall" rating, therefore making them somewhat "harmful" in that people will believe the "overall" and make a purchasing decision on that.

the "likes" and "awards" also push more people to submit more "fake" reviews further harming the review system

As much as I despise those meme reviews, I take them with a grain of salt because at least we (hopefully) know whether they recommend the game or not. Idk, maybe they just don't want to add any more than that and use the info box for memes instead?

Yeah, it's mostly just for point farming, but still.

Valve should have never allowed awards on reviews, or the "funny" upvote for that matter...
