What's that game that you always come back to?
I think everyone has a game that just kind of clicks with them in a way other games never really will. That, no matter how many times you've played/beaten it, the charm is never lost on you. A game that you will pick up and play at least once every year.
-----
In one form or another, since it's release, TES Morrowind was that game for me. I could play it for 10,000 hours and (probably have, tbh) never get bored. I used to have the old disk copy of it, both for PC and Original Xbox. I even purchased it on Steam digitally just to have. Not sure why I'll never get bored of it. Much like how Zelda was my first adventure game, the freshness of the experience really impacted me. TES Morrowind was my first "Western RPG" and really got me into that genre as a whole. Maybe that's why.

Anyway, what's yours?

Path Of Exile but recent update have moved the game in a direction I don't personally like.
Its still a total blast but and I will return again.

Probably FTL. I own it on multiple platforms and go back to it every once in awhile. Never won a run yet but getting better at it.

There's game that you come back to and enjoy every now and then. And there's games you want to go back to, but then realize how graphics didn't age too well to enjoy it, generally low FOV issue. And, there's "oh but I'm too busy..., and I already have too many games to play that I've not gotten to..."

The game from farthest back that I’ve revisited at all recently would be Super Mario Brothers 3.

DOTA 2, but not to play it.

I like instead to dress the heroes with the most exclusive and expensive sets to take screenshots!

Modded Skyrim, modded Fallout 4, modded Titan Quest, modded Grim Dawn and FF XIV Realms Reborn Far Cry 4,5 are always in my rotation.

Earth defence Force 4.1 and 5 plus Modded Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries are good candidates to get on that list, too.

I like to play and try new mods, rather than new games.

It’s either Skyrim or Fallout 4 depending whether I feel like swords or guns.

(Morrowind use to be on that list but then my mods went wonky and I can’t face re-downloading everything.)

Valheim has displaced my Minecraft playing habit.

For me, it is these games that I always returned back to/always coming back:

Bloodborne, Skyrim, Dark Souls II and Dark Souls III, Code Vein.

Can't think of anything else now but I bet if I had Dying Light for example, I know I would be going back to it. Especially if I had someone to play it with. Does it still have co-op?

DOOM II: Hell on Earth, because of custom WADs.
Crazy Tiger Dec 20, 2022 @ 8:01am
Mass Effect trilogy, Championship Manager 2001/2002, Mafia, Dragon Age: Origins, Grand Prix World, Ascension Deckbuilding game, Sentinels of the Multiverse.

There are more, but lets keep it at that.
