Female positive games for women on Steam?
I'm a lady who plays under my husband's Steam account. I don't love shoot 'em ups but I do like adventure, platform, puzzle solving, RPG type stuff. Any suggestions for Steam games that fall under this category, and ideally, have female or gender neutral/irrelevant main characters? Bonus points if they're developed by companies which, to your knowledge, hire lots of women or are generally female-positive in some way. Also bonus points if the women in the game are wearing things other than bra-looking clothing items.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/15130/ Bit old but good.

You should get your own account, you could still play his games through family sharing and vice versa.

You could check out the upcoming Assassin's Creed: Liberation HD.

Here, here, here and here are some suggestions. Not all of them are the genre you want and not all are on Steam but it's a good place to start.

That subreddit is a good source for info like this, you might want to consider joining.

Also listen to Forcen. Make your own Steam account.

You should check out 'Gone Home'. It's not so much a game as it is about patching together a story, but it is beautiful. The best gaming experience I've had in years

Not for 20 dollars, or even 6, thats a 2 dollar game, 2 hours for 20 dollars is a bad joke.

Gone Home is well worth its asking price.

Come on, people! Do we really need to turn a help topic into a bitter debate?

Anyway, I've been playing some of MURU and so far it's pretty good. I think the protagonist is female.

It would appear as though you need it to. If you can't handle someone supporting someone else's suggestion, and consider it "bitter debate", I would suggest you find somewhere other than the "Steam Community Users Discussion" where no one will reply to anything at all. Perhaps start a blog without possibility for comments?

EDIT: And did you perhaps mean MURI? Did the proper title get forgot when you decided to "tsk tsk" others?

It wasn't just you I was addressing, tmwfte. I was referring to Majestic_Turkey's reply to army_erik and then your reply to Majestic_Turkey. I have no opinion of Gone Home since I've never played it, it's just kind of sad to see what could become a bitter debate over the quality of a game in a topic that was created for recommendations.
Since you and army_erik have played the game, how about explaining why you think it's a good game? I'd explain too, but like I said, I never played it.

From the screen shots and videos, this looks to me like a story exploration game along the lines of Myst and Labyrinth of Time, except that it's more than just still images and tiny animations here and there. If you're into that sort of thing, POT_PIE (or POT_PIE's wife), I say give it a try. I wonder if there's a playable demo somewhere to help decide if the game is worth $20 to you.
