Since Steam moderation can’t easily ban these posts without facing backlash, they’re becoming more frequent across popular game forums and other platforms. Just to be clear, this is just my personal observation—not a firm statement. I might be wrong, I might be right, I don’t know. Not claiming this as fact or spreading misinformation.
oh sorry, I prefer not to report now since it takes effort and labor but isn’t rewarding at all. Steam doesn’t provide any incentive for the legit users who help clean up the platform by reporting offenders.
the reward is we get less spam and the satisfaction of a successful report. it takes about 5 seconds to report a comment, it cant be too much effort to help clean up the platform
Oh boy would the forum servers get completly spammed with reports in just seconds...
So... no thanks...
That’s fair, but big platforms recognize contributions in more ways than just personal satisfaction. When official moderators or support staff do the same thing, they get paid, right? So what’s the harm in giving a small in-game item as a token of appreciation for users who help keep the platform clean? Of course, with proper execution to prevent abuse.
Whie the sentiment is good it would completly lead to report spamming...
in the end, thats all you can do and hope valve removes that begging spam.
That's fine, I'm sure someone else will return your shopping cart to the corral eventually anyway.
That's not labour.
Yeah, like that's not gonna backfire. Never. Ever. Like, at all. I'm being sarcastic. This is obviously going to backfire.
Look dude, if contributing to a clean community isn't rewarding for you, if you really need a the moral equivalent of a sugar cube, the problem is you.
Look at twitter especially when Elon nerfed the block feature, certain commentary YouTubers were "Excited" to farm more content for it and then look at reddit its another rabbit hole echo chamber where Genuine Human discussions are uncommon and having a echo chamber mind is engagement (reddit awards), proves my point.
I only like the steam points for Artworks, But there's already AI slop in that tab now. Whether you believe it or not Dead internet theory its not really a theory anymore its actually happening and its going to get worse in the future. It is what it is.
